The USMS Fallen Heroes Honor Run was created by Deputy U.S. Marshals (DUSMs) in the Eastern District of Missouri (E/MO) to pay tribute to a cherished colleague – DUSM Josie Wells. Tragically, DUSM Wells was shot and killed in the line of duty on March 10, 2015, while executing an arrest warrant on a fugitive wanted for double homicide in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
USMS Fallen Heroes Honor Run is scheduled each year near the date of DUSM Wells’ end of watch. Participants from across the country are encouraged to meet and start the run at 6:00 a.m. (Local Time). Purposely designed to be challenging, the lengthy workout provides an opportunity to fully reflect on the path taken by those who have sacrificed their all for the safety and wellbeing of others. The USMS Fallen Heroes Honor Run was also intentionally crafted to bring the entire community together, spreading our gratitude and revitalized spirit.
The USMS Fallen Heroes Honor Run is now in it’s 10th Year and is a United States Marshals Service Tradition.
