Standing With One of Our Own
A community is defined not only by the place its people call home, but by how they respond when one of their neighbors needs help.
In December 2025, Savannah resident Ashley Wasielewski was walking home from a weekly church event when she was attacked near Forsyth Park with a corrosive substance. Ashley suffered severe second- and third-degree burns and was taken to the Augusta Burn Center for treatment.
The attack shocked the Savannah community. For those of us at Nine Line, it happened especially close to home.
Savannah is where we live, work, raise our families, and have built Nine Line from the beginning. Forsyth Park is a familiar part of that home. When we learned what had happened to Ashley, we wanted to find a way to stand behind her and her family as they faced a difficult road to recovery.
Nine Line created a special shirt with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Ashley, helping provide financial support for her recovery and her family during a time when their focus should be on healing.
The message chosen for the design came from Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.”
Nine Line CEO Tyler Merritt also personally pledged a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the attack, while encouraging other members of the business community to find ways to help.
But this story isn't about a shirt or a company. It's about a woman whose life was suddenly changed by an unthinkable act of violence and a community with an opportunity to remind her that she doesn't have to face what comes next alone.
There are moments when helping doesn't require a complicated plan. It simply requires recognizing that someone in your community is hurting, finding a way to use the resources you have, and showing up.
We're proud to call Savannah home, and even prouder to stand alongside the people who make it a community.
